TOKYO - The Japanese government warned the public yesterday not to eat raw meat as the toll grew from a summer food poisoning epidemic sweeping the country. The health ministry said that more than 8,000 people had been stricken with the disease since the start of the summer, 6,000 of them in the past 10 days in the town of Sakai. Four people have died from the disease so far.
