Juan Sebastian Veron has told Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon he wants the leave Stamford Bridge, according to the player's agent.

The Argentinian midfielder has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since his £15 million sterling move from Manchester United last summer and has been linked with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.

"He met Kenyon and told him that he wants to be sold," Veron's agent Fernando Hidalgo said.  "He would love to return to Italy where he has his best memories as a player."

Veron yesterday responded to speculation linking him with Inter by admitting he would relish the challenge of joining the Serie A giants.

"There is that possibility, but we have to wait until the end of the season to see who will coach Inter. My availability is there. It's a lifestyle choice, although I am happy in London and happy at Chelsea.

"It would be stimulating to play for Inter as it's many years since the club have won a big title."
