Vatican City - The Vatican yesterday called ambassadors from NATO states and the UN Security Council to a special meeting on Kosovo. The Holy See's Secretary of State, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, invited the ambassadors "to a meeting to study the situation which has developed in Kosovo and possible solutions that could help restore peace in the region".
Pope John Paul has repeatedly appealed for an end to violence.
