Washington - North Korea has agreed to talks in New York today to arrange for dialogue with the US special envoy, Mr Jack Pritchard, a State Department official said yesterday.

Other than some routine diplomatic contacts on logistics, the talks will be the first between the two sides since President Bush took office in January.
