The future of urban renewal schemes had been placed in doubt because of a Government failure to clear their terms with the European Commission, according to Fine Gael's Mr Brian Hayes TD. Inconclusive negotiations between the Government and the EU Commission over the tax and rent reliefs being offered forced the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Renewal, Mr Molloy, to suspend new schemes last July.
An official spokesperson said yesterday that it wasn't possible to say when those negotiations would be completed.
