Unity on saving Derry walls

THE Governor of the Apprentice Boys of Derry and a founder member of the SDLP worked together yesterday to persuade Derry City Council to halt building work on the Millennium Theatre Complex development at East Wall, alongside the city's historic walls. Mr Alistair Simpson and Mr al Michael Canavan believed they had almost total public support for their campaign to have the complex built away from the walls, a section of which collapsed during foundation work last month.
