The former anti-apartheid campaigner and South African journalist, Mr Donald Woods, has said unionists would be stupid to reject the Provisional IRA's offer on arms.

Addressing about 150 people at a meeting in west Belfast yesterday, he said the offer should be "grasped with open arms and gratitude". He believed unionists would accept it. "If they don't they are stark, raving mad," he said.
