Eight Guatemalan UN peacekeepers were killed and 14 injured during an operation against Ugandan rebels in eastern Congo, the United Nations said today.

The United Nations has its biggest peacekeeping force helping enforce a peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In recent months has conducted several operations to dislodge Congolese and foreign rebels and militias in the east.
