One Ukrainian soldier was killed and two were wounded when "bandits" attacked a patrol near the Iraqi town of Kut.

One Ukrainian soldier was killed and two were wounded when "bandits" attacked a patrol near the Iraqi town of Kut.

"At 8 a.m.  (5 a.m. Irish time) near the Iraqi town of Az-Zubadiya about 60 km south of Kut, a patrol of Ukrainian peacekeepers was attacked. . . as a result of the bandit attack one (Ukrainian) sniper was killed," Ukraine's Defence Ministry said in a statement.
