U2 have announced details of the European leg of their Elevation 2001 Tour which will see them play Slane Castle on Saturday August 25th as the climax.

They will play three British dates in August at Manchester MEN Arena on August 11th, Birmingham NEC on August 14th and Earl's Court in London on August 18th.

Tickets for the Slane concert go on sale next Saturday.

Prices for the Irish concert are £36.50 (plus a £3 booking fee) while concerts in England cost £32.50 and £40 (sterling) for Birmingham and Manchester and £37.50 and £45 for Earl's Court.

The european dates start on July 6th in Copenhagen.

U2 will also play in Stockholm, Cologne, Munich, Paris, Imola (Italy), Zurich, Vienna, Berlin, Utrecht, Antwerp and Barcelona.

The Elevation Tour starts in Miami on March 24th.

The American leg runs until the end of June, with support from P.J. Harvey.
