A Co Tyrone firm yesterday announced a £5.3 million investment which will create 78 jobs. Linden Foods, of Dungannon, is to install a blast freezing and cold storage facility at its meat-processing plant on the Granville Industrial Estate.

The Industrial Development Board is to provide £1.1 million towards the cost of the investment. However, some 100 jobs are to be lost in Derry with the closure of the Mother's Pride bakery.
