Two men killed in London after shots fired

Two men were killed today after their car was shot at, sped off and collided with a bus, London police said.

Three female pedestrians were also injured in the incident in Lower Clapton Road, Clapton, east London. It was believed one of the men in the car died from the shooting, and another in the crash with the bus.

police were called at 5 a.m. after reports that shots had been fired at the occupants of a blue BMW 330 sports convertible. The car sped off after the shooting and collided with three pedestrians and a number of cars, a spokesman said.

It then came to a stop about 400 yards up the road after colliding with a bus at the junction with Millfields Road.

When police arrived they found the driver and the passenger dead in the BMW. The female pedestrians have all been taken to an undisclosed hospital. Two have minor injuries, and one is said to be in a "serious" condition.
