Two men in their 20s charged with having a pipe bomb and a rifle in their possession were each remanded in continuing custody following their appearance before Galway District Court yesterday.

Mark Phelan (24), Ballybane, Galway, and Glen Walsh (27), Bonogue, Clondalkin, Dublin, were charged with having a pipe bomb in their possession for an unlawful purpose.

They were further charged with having a .22 rifle in their possession. Both men were remanded in custody by Judge Mary Fahy for service of the book of evidence on June 24th.
