Two men have been arrested by gardaí investigating an alleged rape and serious assault of a woman in Drogheda last weekend.
One man, arrested yesterday, has been released and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A second man, arrested this morning, remains in custody under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act. He can be held for 12 hours under this act.
The victim said she was assaulted at a flat on Magdalene St in Drogheda between 4 and 8 a.m. last Saturday, November 8th.
