Two people have been killed in a collision in Co Westmeath this evening.

Two people have been killed in a collision in Co Westmeath this evening.

A man, in his twenties, and a woman were killed when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle at 6.30 p.m. The incident occurred in Joanstown, Rathowen, Co Westmeath.

A woman in her thirties was injured in the incident, and has been taken to hospital.

Gardaí in Granard, Co Longford, are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
