A top Palestinian official has said the Israeli government bears ultimate blame for the suicide bombing in which two people were killed and three were hurt.

> "It is the result of continued Israeli aggression and massacres against the Palestinian people and territories," said Mr Nabil Abu Rudeina, a top aide to Palestinian leader Mr Yasser Arafat.

A Palestinian suicide bomber killed himself and an Israeli, thought to be a policeman, in the northern town of Umm el-Fahm earlier.

An Israeli government spokesman said the attack, the first inside Israel since August 4th and was the "result of the complete inaction of the Palestinian Authority."
