Two in court over assault

Two men have been before court in Dublin following an attack yesterday in which a man's arm was almost severed.

Two men have been before court in Dublin following an attack yesterday in which a man's arm was almost severed.

The men were arrested shortly after the assault which occurred shortly before 1.30am yesterday morning at the junction of Goldsmith Street and the North Circular Road.

A 35-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his arm after he was involved in an altercation.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital for emergency treatment and remains in a serious condition.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the general area of the Spar Shop and the junction with Goldsmith Street between 1am and 2am to contact them at Mountjoy on 01 6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
