Two men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month.
Gardaí from Terenure investigating the raid on a cash-in-transit van at the Orwell shopping centre in Templogue on Saturday April 7th carried out searches in the west Dublin area this morning.
Two men in their 40s were arrested, and cash was recovered. The men are being detained at Terenure and Rathmines Garda stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007, a Garda spokesman said.
During the raid, one man was armed with what is believed to be a handgun. The two men made their escape in a car driven by a third person. The car was burnt out a short distance away.
