A quantity of firearms and ammunition was seized by gardai who intercepted a car in Tallaght yesterday evening.
A sawn-off shotgun was recovered from the vehicle at Kilclare Avenue at around 3.45 p.m. Two other shotguns, an estimated 300 rounds of ammunition and a Garda uniform were uncovered when gardai pursued the driver to a nearby house.
Both occupants of the car were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and detained at Tallaght Garda station.
