Two English police officers have been charged with offences relating to the possession of indecent images of children, Cambridgeshire Police said.
Detective Constable Brian Stevens, 41, will appear before magistrates in Bury St Edmunds tomorrow morning with another officer who worked on the Soham murder inquiry.
Pc Antony Goodridge, is also charged with offences relating to the possession of indecent images of children.
Both officers have been suspended from duty.
Stevens and Goodridge, 34, were arrested early on Thursday and police said both would remain in custody overnight.
The officers were arrested by detectives from West Midlands Police. The investigation is part of a worldwide inquiry which is being led by the FBI in the United States.
The British National Crime Squad has been coordinating the operation in the UK.
