Two men have died in overnight road crashes in Cork and Kildare.
A man in his 40s was killed on the M7 near Kildare Town when his four wheel drive vehicle crashed into a barrier on the motorway shortly before 2 a.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai in Cork have also launched an investigation following a fatal crash at Mawmore East, Bandon at 3.40 a.m..
An 18 year old driver and sole occupant of the car died following a crash. There were no other vehicles involved.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital.
