Two arrested after bid to rob Tallaght bank

Two men were arrested in Tallaght this morning as they attempted to rob a bank, gardaí said.

Two men were arrested in Tallaght this morning as they attempted to rob a bank, gardaí said.

Gardaí were called when a man who works for Bank of Ireland in Tallaght was confronted by three men in the vicinity of the bank at 7.30 a.m.

"Local gardaí who were nearby at the time went to the scene where two men were arrested and a firearm recovered," a Garda spokesman said. A third man is believed to have run away.

The two men are being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act in Tallaght Station.
