Investment company TVC Holdings has bought a further 3 per cent of UTV Media for £2.2 million, increasing its total stake to 18 per cent.
The purchase strengthens TVC's position as UTV's largest shareholder after it bought 15 per cent of the Belfast-based broadcaster in July for £19.5 million.
The investment reflects TVC's strategy of buying "significant stakes in both public and private companies", the company said in a statement.
