RTÉ radio and television presenter Ryan Tubridy is to work with BBC again this summer after the announcement by the UK broadcaster that he will be covering for broadcaster Chris Evans during the summer months.
Tubridy will be filling in on the station’s breakfast show, which has 8.8 million regular listeners.
He begins his stint with a one-day-only broadcast on Monday and will also be keeping the English DJ’s seat warm throughout the summer months.
Speaking about his return, Tubridy said: “It’s going to be a good summer.
“It’s great to be back at the BBC for another stint, especially as it’s the show that was once presented by the incomparable Irishman, Terry Wogan, and now run by one of my all-time favourite broadcasters, Chris Evans,” he said.
Lewis Carnie, head of programmes at BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music said: “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to persuade another of Ireland’s biggest stars to work his magic on Radio 2.”
