Galway Corporation has agreed to switch off a set of traffic lights indefinitely because of public demand.
The lights at the Town Hall Theatre had been switched off for several of months during underground cable-laying.
A number of motorists contacted the local authority to say that the flow of traffic had actually improved since the lights were removed.
