Toyota have re-signed drivers Olivier Panis and Cristiano da Matta for next year's Formula One season.

The team, in just their second season, have made significant progress after recruiting Panis and da Matta over the winter.

Last season's points haul of two was quickly overhauled and the team are embroiled in a battle for fifth place in the constructors' championship with BAR.

Team boss Ove Andersson was full of praise for former grand prix winner Panis and reigning Champ Car champion da Matta.

He said: "They have both performed very well throughout this season and have played an integral role in developing the TF103 race car.

Toyota are currently sixth in the constructors' championship, just a point behind BAR.
