Three shot in west Dublin

Three men have been seriously hurt following a shooting incident in Blanchardstown this morning.

The shooting took place on the Corduff estate in the west Dublin suburb at around 11.20 am.

One of the men was shot in the head and is said to be in a critical condition while the condition of the other two is serious.

Two of the victims were being found in a house in the Corduff Park area while the third was found on open ground nearby. Two are being treated in Connolly Hospital while the other man was transferred to the Mater Hospital.

The Minister for Justice Alan Shatter said he shared people’s sense of revulsion at the attack. “Three young men sustained injuries in the incident from the discharge of handguns fired by masked attackers. This type of incident is revolting to all law abiding citizens,” he said.

The two scenes have been sealed off pending a technical and forensic examination and anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 6667000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
