Mr Robert Naylor, 48, Mr Benjamin Wilson, 35, and Mr James Patrick Moloney, 44, were remanded into custody at Bow Street Magistrates' Court in London today.

They were also charged with conspiracy to possess firearms with intent to endanger life, and possession of two handguns, two silencers and a machine gun.

The men were arrested after a joint operation by the Garda Siochana and British police raided premises on an industrial estate in Morecambe, Lancashire on August 10th as part of an investigation into the activities of republican dissident groups.

Mr Naylor and Mr Wilson were refused bail and Mr Moloney made no application for bail.

All three were remanded in custody to appear before the Old Bailey on August 22nd.
