THREE men charged in connection with a failed armed, raid on a Waterford city bank appeared before the local district court yesterday.

Mr William O'Connor (33), North Circular Road, Dublin Mr Anthony O'Connor (29), Windmill Avenue, Crumlin and Mr Dermot O'Callaghan (29), Clogher Road, Crumlin, were charged that on January, 4th at the Bank of Ireland branch on the Quay they had possession of a firearm with intent to commit a robbery.

Insp Michael McGarry told Judge William Harnett that Garda inquiries were continuing and he was seeking a further adjournment. Mr William O'Connor was remanded in, custody to appear on February 8th. The other two defendants were remanded in custody to appear on Thursday.
