A UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed in Iraq today, killing three people and injuring a fourth, a US defense official said.

There was no indication of hostile fire.

Initial reports said the helicopter went down in the Tigris River near Samarrah, a city north of Baghdad, the official said.

"There were three killed, one injured, according to initial voice reports," the official said.
