Three men appeared before a sitting of Portlaoise District Court yesterday on charges relating to the seizure of €1.4 million worth of cannabis plants in Co Offaly on Tuesday.
The plants were found at a sophisticated cannabis- growing operation in a warehouse at Aughnacarna, Durrow, Co Offaly. Gardaí believe the haul, estimated to be almost 5,000 plants, is the largest “grow house” ever detected in the State.
Tangfu Han (25), Weiwen Wang (26) and Bin Wang (31) were remanded in custody on a charge of possession of drugs for sale and supply and one charge of cultivating cannabis at Aughnacarna on January 24th.
