Three men have been arrested in connection with the discovery of pipe bombs in Co Longford.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the discovery of pipe bombs in Co Longford.

The men aged in their 20s, 40s and 60s are being held at Roscommon and Longford Garda stations under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. They can be detained for up to 72 hours.

One man was arrested in Dublin while the other two were arrested in Longford.

The devices were recovered in Edgeworthstown in February and April of this year.
