Third arrest after £1m drugs seizure

A third man has been arrested after the seizure yesterday of over 100,000 ecstasy tablets in Co Clare.

A third man has been arrested after the seizure yesterday of over 100,000 ecstasy tablets in Co Clare.

Gardaí from Limerick seized the drugs, estimated to be worth about £1 million, in a raid on a farmhouse in Meelick.

Two men - one in his 20s the other in his 30s - were arrested following the seizure last night.

Both men are being held in Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act. The third man, believed to be in his 50s, is being held in Mayorstone Garda Station in Limerick.

The farmhouse where the arrests were made has been sealed off and is being examined by the Garda Drugs Task Force.
