The no-wince wine list

Bonterra Cabernet and other organic wines feature on the latest wine list of QV2 restaurant in St Andrew's Street where John Count McCormack continues to prove that it is possible - and perhaps even profitable - to offer an excellent selection of wines at very fair prices. A half-litre of Chateau Grand Monteil 1997 for £9.75 (great idea - not as mean as half a standard bottle); Cantina Tollo's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 1997 for £12.50; Chateau Meaume 1995 (see above) for £14.95, and lots of New World mid-price goodies leading all the way up to fifth-growth Chateau Cantemerle 1989 for a surprisingly ungrasping £55.
