Sunny, crisp and perfect for traffic watching

Now that the Garda Traffic Watch scheme has gone nationwide, all you civic-minded people can tap 1890-205805 into their mobiles anytime they see some clown acting the eejit on the roads. Here's hoping thousands of them get busted this weekend.

Those of you who have been enjoying the crisp, sunny weather of the last few days are in for a treat - it doesn't look like fading for some time yet.

It will remain sunny but cold at 6 to 10°C for the weekend. However, the prevailing strong easterly wind will make it feel exceptionally cold.

There will be a slight chance of rain tonight in the south and east, with temperatures dipping to a frosty 3 to -2°C.

There's still no weekend DART or commuter train service between Greystones and Pearse Street, although Dublin Bus are continuing to run extra buses.

There is also a restricted Dublin Connolly to Gorey/Rosslare service over the weekend. Check with Iarnród Éireann before travelling. Bus transfers will be in place between Rosslare Europort and Enniscorthy for some services.

It's probably a good idea to steer clear of the whole Lansdowne Road area for most of Sunday, as 40,000 rugby fans will be invading the area for Ireland's Six Nations match against Wales.

Motorists should steer clear of Harcourt Street and St Stephens Green on Sunday morning, as workers will be erecting the overhead cables for the Luas line. There are also a number of restrictions on Hanover Street and along the Luas works at the Church Street and Chancery Street junction.

There are no major delays expected at any of the country's main airports this weekend. The air traffic controllers' dispute that caused havoc in Paris's Orly airport has also been resolved.
