A woman suicide bomber killed herself and one other person in central Istanbul today, police said.
At least 15 people were injured.
A police officer said the woman carrying the explosive had approached police on Gumussuyu Street near Istanbul's main Taksim square before detonating the device.
Reporters at the scene said police had cordoned off a wide area and at least two ambulances were on the scene. A police helicopter was hovering overhead.
