Third level students should be wary of potential rent frauds when seeking accommodation for the college year, the president of the students' union in the Dublin Institute of Technology has said. Each year, students continued to be the victims of disreputable landlords and letting agencies, he added.
Students should seek advice from their local students' union or housing advice group before handing over money or signing letting agreements. "We are trying to warn people to be very careful of handing over money to agencies or individuals," he said.
