"THE Spirit of a Nation" is the theme of a colloquium to be held at Trinity College Dublin next Monday.
Hosted by the US ambassador, Ms Jean Kennedy Smith, and the Provost of Trinity College, Dr Thomas Mitchell, the day-long colloquium will address the US democratic and cultural legacy in the 221st year since independence.
Speakers will include the US Education Secretary, Mr Richard Riley; Ms Elaine Tyler May, of UCD; the Pulitzer prizewinning authors Arthur Schlesinger jnr, Arthur Miller and Frank McCourt.
