Up to 20 new jobs are to be created by a leading firm which manufactures structural components for the European space industry, it was announced today.
Tánaiste Mary Coughlan revealed the highly skilled positions are expected over the next five years at the Dublin based European headquarters quarters of Ampac (American Pacific Corporation) In Space Propulsion.
The company has been awarded a €7.5 million five-year production contract with French company Snecma for the provision of structural components for the Ariane 5 Space launcher.
Ms Coughlan said Ireland continues to be an attractive destination for foreign direct investment because of the consistent focus on R&D and innovation.
David Gibbons, of Ampac, said the firm will work with its parent company to expand business in Europe.
“I look forward to continuing Ampac’s successful relationship with Ireland through IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland and to the ongoing growth of the Dublin facility,” he said.
