Software firm Novell is to expand its operation in Dublin by creating 40 jobs at its Sandyford headquarters.

The US company, which produces operating systems, announced today it plans to centralise its Europe, Middle East and Africa Teleweb operations in Ireland.

The Teleweb team is responsible for handling Novell's renewal transactions by telephone and over the internet.

The company, which employs 125 people in its Sandyford Shared Services Centre, said it chose Ireland over other locations "due to the availability of suitably experienced staff and synergies with the existing operations".
