Snow Report

Skiing conditions in most European resorts will be very good over the coming days

Skiing conditions in most European resorts will be very good over the coming days. A high pressure system is now established over central Europe, and this will bring cool, clear and settled weather to most Alpine and Pyrenean resorts.

Conditions in Andorra are much improved. Recent snowfalls have ensured there is good snow cover on pistes at all elevations, with the best skiing conditions on higher and north-facing slopes.

Lower runs in French resorts deteriorated last week during a mild spell, but conditions have now improved with cool, clear weather ensuring good piste conditions. Snowfalls at the end of last week topped up most pistes, and conditions in resorts such as Les Arcs, La Plagne, Alpe d'Huez and Courchevel are generally good, with just the lower pistes slightly hard from heavy use during the school holiday period.

Most resorts in Austria had decent falls of snow at the end of last week and over the weekend, although it rained at lower elevations. Lower runs in most Austrian resorts continue to lack decent cover, although better conditions are to be found at higher elevations. Only the higher resorts of Ischgl or Obergurgl/Hochgurgl or the glacier at Kaprun boast good snow cover at all elevations.
