Snow Patrol front man Gary Lightbody played an impromptu set in the Dundrum Town Centre this afternoon.

Snow Patrol front man Gary Lightbody played an impromptu set in the Dundrum Town Centre this afternoon.

About 150 fans turned up to hear Lightbody sing two of Snow Patrol's best known songs Runand Chasing Carsin HMV. He also played the new single Just Say Yes.

Lightbody apologised to the crowd for his guitar-playing as the band's lead guitarist Nathan Connolly was not well though he appeared to manage quite well without them.

Afterwards four members of the band, with the exception of Connolly, signed copies of the Best Of Snow Patrolcollection which has been released in time for Christmas.

Last month HMV in Dundrum hosted boy band JLS which attracted a very animated crowd of teenage girls.
