A DONEGAL skipper was sent to prison for six years last night for importing £16 million worth of cannabis resin into the country on November last.
Before Ennis Circuit Court was Kevin Lafferty (32), of Bunn, Culkenny, Malin, Co Donegal, who pleaded guilty to unlawfully importing the controlled drug, cannabis resin, at Cappagh, Kilrush, Co Clare, on November 1st last year in contravention of the Misuse of Drugs Regulation 1988 and 1993.
