The Irish Rugby Football Union have dismissed speculation the match between Scotland and Ireland in the Six Nations championship could again be postponed due to foot and mouth.

A spokesperson told ireland.com, "As far as we are concerned the match is going ahead as planned. We have no reason the think otherwise unless we hear from the Irish or Scottish Departments of Agriculture".

The original fixture was postponed from April last amid fears that the disease could be spread by supporters.

Several farms in Scotland have again been placed under restrictions following contact with a contaminated farm in England.
