A search is under way in South Korea today for six people believed to have been washed away in a flash flood.

Rescuers are searching the Imjin River in Yeoncheon for the six, who were camping and fishing along a river flowing from North Korea.

The river apparently suddenly rose - possibly because a new dam in the North released a large amount of water without warning, officials said.

According to local officials, the area has seen no rainfall recently.
