Andreas Wohler's globe-trotting Silvano (6-1) notched another memorable foreign victory as he raced to an emphatic success for Germany in the Arlington Million in Chicago, the third leg of the Emirates World Series.

It is not the first time Silvano has landed success overseas this season - he took the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin in April, as well as the Singapore Cup at Kranji in March.

Jerry Bailey and Hap (7-2) chased the winner home but the German raider was too good and had three lengths to spare at the line.

Redattore stayed on bravely to take third with Silvano's countryman Caitano running a fine race back in fourth.

Gerard Butler's Compton Bolter was always towards the rear and never got in a serious blow, while favourite Bienamado was a beaten horse before the 12-runner field entered the home straight.

Dermot Weld's Irish hope Muakaad raced in mid-division but was unable to live with the principals in the Grade One event.
