Shamrock Rovers advanced to the semi-final stage of the FAI Carlsberg Cup tonight after beating Sligo 2-0 at Tolka Park while at Dalymount Bohemians and Bray played out a 1-1 draw.

Sligo had a first half Jason Moran penalty saved before Billy Woods headed the Dubliners into the lead on 42 minutes.

The visitors threatened to equalize after the interval but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Sean Francis doubled the lead from the spot after Tony Grant had been fouled in the box.

At Dalymount Park the homeside had a Stephen Caffrey goal cancelled out when Mick Doohan nicked an equalizer for the visitors with fifteen minutes on the clock.
