Sinn Fein has called for a No vote in the referendum on the Treaty of Nice. The Mayor of Sligo, Mr Sean MacManus, said the treaty endangered Irish neutrality and threatened to "relegate Ireland to the second division of the European Union by increased powers of the larger states". The Sinn Fein ardcomhairle has endorsed a campaign of door-to-door canvassing and leafleting.
