Sex abuse case involves 60 boys

The RUC has opened a major investigation into allegations of widespread sex abuse of young boys by a Co Antrim man.

The RUC has opened a major investigation into allegations of widespread sex abuse of young boys by a Co Antrim man.

The 47 year old man has appeared in court in Ballymena charged with sex offences against a 14 year old boy.

An RUC detective told the court on Saturday that police had to interview at least 58 buoys in connection with the complex" case. The detective said the defendant had admitted he was a paedophile.

He was also charged with possession of cannabis. He was remanded until September 26th.
