Riga - Seven spectators were killed and 25 injured yesterday when two cars collided and left the track during a car rally in central Latvia.

Latvian radio, quoting drivers at the race at the Lazdona road race track in Madona, 150 km east of Riga, said the two cars crashed into each other before rolling over into spectators. Television pictures from the site showed bodies and the two cars strewn across a road and in a field next to it.
